🎓 Minimum Eligibility Criteria
As per the official JNU notification, the essential qualifications align with the UGC Regulations, 2018:
- Master's Degree: A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master’s level in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university. (Note: A 5% relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates).
- NET/SLET/SET: Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Exemption from NET: Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Ph.D. degree holders from top 500 foreign universities are also eligible.
- Age Limit: Superannuated teachers can also be considered for engagement subject to a maximum age limit of 70 years.
💵 Terms, Salary & Allowances
- Honorarium: The selected Guest Faculty will receive Rs. 1,500/- per lecture subject to a maximum cap of Rs. 50,000/- per month.
- Benefits: Guest Faculty will not be given/entitled to the benefit of allowances, pension, gratuity, and leave, etc., as admissible to the regular teachers of the University.
- Contract Termination: No claim of regularisation/extension of the contract will be entertained.
